The main page in your Raydiant Dashboard is your Screens page. The Screens page shows a list of all the ScreenRays associated with your account and gives you control over the names, orientations, resolution, and playlists of the displays they're connected to. In this article, we'll go over exactly how to do that.
What is a "screen"?
In Raydiant terminology, a "screen" is any display or device with a ScreenRay connected to it via HDMI. Usually a screen is a literal TV or computer monitor screen, but you can connect ScreenRays to other devices—for example, you can connect a ScreenRay to a high-resolution projector for display on a wall or very large pull-down screen.
If you have an existing in-house coax network, you can also connect a ScreenRay to the modulator or headend that powers this network. In this way, you can send the same video stream from one ScreenRay to all connected TVs simultaneously. Because there's only one ScreenRay required for the whole network, Raydiant will still show it as a single screen on your Screens page. As a result, we recommend naming all of your screens clearly when you activate them.
Raydiant also shows an Online/Offline indicator next to each of your screens. This indicator shows whether your ScreenRay is currently connected to the internet and interacting with Raydiant's servers.
Each screen on your Screens page has its own dedicated screen settings. To change the settings for any screen, just click the gear-shaped icon to reveal the Screen Settings panel for that screen.
The Screen Settings panel includes some useful details about each of your screens, including its MAC address (helpful if you ever need to contact Raydiant Support); the date the ScreenRay was activated to your account; the current internet connection type, signal strength, and network name; and the ScreenRay's Soundtrack Your Brand pairing status and code.

The Screen Settings panel also contains several editable fields:
To change the name of your screen, just click on the name field in the Screen Settings panel, and edit or replace the name using your keyboard. We recommend changing the name to reflect its physical location or some other identifying feature—for example, "San Francisco Menu Board", or "IT Department Lobby"—so you can easily find it later.
The notes field for each screen is handy for keeping notes about current or future published content, notes about issues you've experienced with a particular screen, or any other information you want to keep or share with the Raydiant Support team.
The screen resolution dropdown lets you switch the video output from a given ScreenRay between 720p and 1080p resolution. Your ScreenRay will default to 1080p output, but if you know that your screen only supports 720p, or if your content isn't appearing as expected on your screen, you can set the output to 720p instead. A future update to the Dashboard will also add 4K output as an option for upcoming Raydiant hardware.
You can select your ScreenRay's timezone from this dropdown to ensure that the Clocks, Calendar, and Multizone apps show the correct times and that scheduled playlists play at the correct times. For example, if your ScreenRay is in New York but its timezone is set to "America/Los_Angeles", displayed times and playback times will be off by three hours. Setting the correct timezone—in this case, "America/New_York" or "US/Eastern"—will make sure all times display as expected and playlists play at the time you specified.
If you use Raydiant with screens oriented vertically (or in "portrait mode"), this dropdown makes it easy to switch the orientation of your ScreenRay's video output so that it matches the orientation of the TV. Just select the right vertical orientation based on which side the "bottom" of your TV is located on, click Publish, and your ScreenRay will adjust the orientation of its video output to match!
Device Update Blackout
When your ScreenRay receives a software update to enable new features, it may need to restart to apply that update. To help avoid having your ScreenRay restart during business hours, the Update Blackout feature lets you set a window of up to 21 hours during which your ScreenRay will not restart to apply updates. For example, if your business operates 8am to 5pm, you can set an update blackout window of 7am to 6pm and know that your ScreenRay won't restart during your workday (or for an hour before or after). In the screenshot above, the update blackout is set from 5am to 2am, meaning that this ScreenRay will apply updates only between 2am and 5am each day.
Restart & Reboot
Finally, the Screen Settings panel includes buttons to restart or reboot your ScreenRay. If your ScreenRay is behaving unexpectedly, but appears Online in your Dashboard, clicking the Restart button will force a software restart, which should resolve most issues. The Reboot button serves a similar purpose, but will cause the unit to physically reboot as though powered off and back on. You can also use the "Repeats" field next to each button to set a daily restart or reboot time for your ScreenRay.
